ADBLUE Urea Pump

AdBlue modules can reduce nitrogen oxides by up to 95% when working properly. Different manufacturers use different methods to reduce nitrogen emissions. One option for this reduction is to add urea, which is first converted to ammonia in a selective catalyst and then converted to solid particles and carbon dioxide. Cars with such a system have a urea tank and an appropriate dosing module, which then dispenses the additives into the exhaust stream. Control of this module is handled by the engine control unit.
