Hydrodynamic torque converters for VW BORA

A hydrodynamic torque converter for vehicles of the brand VW BORA, also known as a torque converter for short, allows torque to be transferred between the engine and the automatic transmission. The energy of the fluid flowing through the converter is used to transfer the kinetic energy of the engine. Its design reduces torsional vibrations, which improves driving comfort at low speeds.

The torque converter transfers power to the driven axle of the vehicle. The torque converter consists of the following four parts: the pump, the turbine, the stator and the converter lock-up clutch.
